This training course aims to give trainees knowledge, understanding and skills in chainsaw maintenance and cross cutting and the directional felling of trees up to 380mm using a chainsaw. It provides the trainee with the knowledge to select and use felling techniques appropriate to the size, weight, position, condition and species of the tree. The length of training may vary depending on the objectives covered, the ratio of trainee/instructor and the ability and previous experience of the trainees. The delivery of training covers a mix of both theory and practical elements.
