Description
This course is designed for managers, supervisors and team leaders who are responsible for managing employees and want to develop their understanding of how to improve employee engagement, motivation and performance. The course introduces the principles of employee engagement and motivation and considers the benefits these can bring to employees, teams and organisations. It explores different levels of engagement and practical approaches managers can use to strengthen engagement, including communicating expectations, recognising good performance, building positive working relationships, encouraging collaboration and supporting employee development. The course also explores different motivational drivers, including achievement, affiliation and power, and considers how individual employees may respond differently to management approaches, tasks and working environments. Learners consider how leadership style, work allocation, feedback, recognition and development opportunities can be adapted to support individual motivation and encourage employees to contribute effectively towards team and organisational goals.
