Felling methods will include the use of boring cuts, holding cuts and felling wedges to assist with the felling. Felling methods for: upright/balanced trees; back-weighted trees; forward-weighted trees; poles difficult to fell trees (e.g. due to their high commercial value, condition, aspect or position); use of guidebars greater than the diameter of the tree The length of training may vary depending on the objectives covered, the ratio of trainee/instructor and the ability and previous experience of the trainees.
