Description

This course is designed for employees working within health and social care services who require an understanding of the Fundamental Standards that apply to the provision of regulated care. The course introduces the standards that people receiving care have a right to expect, including person-centred care, dignity and respect, consent, safe care and treatment, safeguarding, nutrition and hydration, suitable premises and equipment, complaints, good governance and appropriate staffing. It also covers the duty of candour and requirements relating to the display of performance assessments. The course considers how these standards support safe, effective and person-centred care and introduces the role of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in assessing whether regulated services meet the required standards. It supports learners in understanding how their responsibilities and everyday working practices contribute to maintaining appropriate standards of care.
