Description
This course is designed for operators responsible for the safe inspection, operation, routine maintenance and transportation of the Loglogic Softrak 120 Cut and Collect System within agricultural, environmental, conservation, ecological and land management environments. Learners will develop the knowledge, practical skills and operational competence required to safely operate this specialist low ground pressure tracked machine and its integrated front-mounted cut and collect system whilst undertaking vegetation management activities across sensitive terrain where conventional wheeled machinery may be unsuitable. The programme develops competence in carrying out pre-use inspections, identifying defects, undertaking routine maintenance, safely operating both the tracked carrier and harvesting system, and applying safe working practices in accordance with manufacturer guidance and current legislation. Particular emphasis is placed upon the safe operation of the front-mounted cut and collect system, including inspection, adjustment, operation, isolation, routine maintenance and the identification of hazards associated with rotating cutting components, moving machinery and vegetation management activities. In addition to operational competence, learners will develop the knowledge and practical skills required to safely prepare the machine for transport, select suitable towing vehicles and transport equipment, load and unload the machine using appropriate methods, apply effective load restraint techniques, undertake transport planning and complete transportation activities safely between operational sites. The course combines classroom-based learning with extensive practical instruction and workplace-focused assessment, enabling learners to develop confidence and competence when operating and transporting the Loglogic Softrak 120 in a variety of operational environments. Delivery of this Course Standard shall be undertaken using the Loglogic Softrak 120 Cut and Collect System. Where manufacturer updates or model variations are introduced, training providers shall ensure delivery remains aligned with the operating characteristics, safety features and manufacturer instructions applicable to the machine being used.
