Description
Following the recent government consultation, car drivers will be able to tow a trailer without a taking a test.
This change will mean drivers who passed their car test after 1 January 1997 will be able to tow a trailer up to 3,500kg when the law is changed.
Drivers who passed their car test before 1 January 1997 can already tow without a car and trailer test, so are not affected by this change.
This training course aims to give trainees knowledge, understanding and basic skills in undertaking routine vehicle trailer towing. It introduces trainees to the hazards and risks associated with trailer towing activities and to comply with health and safety legislation. The length of training may vary depending on the objectives covered, the ratio of trainee/instructor and the ability and previous experience of the trainees. The delivery of training covers a mix of both theory and practical elements.
