Description
The Working at Height - Ladders, Stepladders and Access Platforms course provides learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely plan, access and carry out work at height using ladders, stepladders and low-level access platforms in accordance with current health and safety legislation and recognised industry best practice.
Combining classroom-based learning with practical demonstrations and hands-on exercises, delegates will develop the knowledge and confidence required to assess work at height activities, select appropriate access equipment, carry out pre-use inspections, use equipment safely and minimise the risks associated with falls from height. The course promotes safe working practices and compliance with the Work at Height Regulations 2005.
This course can contribute 3.5 hours of Driver CPC Periodic Training for eligible vocational licence holders. Delegates wishing to claim Driver CPC hours must notify us at the time of booking and provide their driving licence details prior to the course.
Training is delivered in line with the UK Rural Skills (UKRS) Course Standard, ensuring a structured, competence-based programme that combines theoretical knowledge with practical workplace application.

- Applying safe systems of work through practical workplace scenarios.
Assessment
Delegates are assessed throughout the course through instructor questioning, practical observation and workplace exercises to confirm their knowledge, understanding and practical competence. Assessment is conducted against the learning outcomes and assessment criteria specified within the relevant UK Rural Skills (UKRS) Course Standard.
Certification
Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a UK Rural Skills (UKRS) Accredited Certificate, demonstrating that they have successfully achieved the learning outcomes and assessment criteria specified within the relevant UKRS Course Standard.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. Delegates should be physically capable of safely undertaking work at height and possess a sufficient understanding of spoken and written English to fully participate in training and assessment.
Course Duration
Course duration will vary depending on delegates' previous experience, the number of delegates attending and the range of work at height activities being covered. Training is designed to provide delegates with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely plan and carry out work at height using ladders, stepladders and access platforms while complying with current legislation and recognised industry best practice.
This course may be approved for 3.5 hours of Driver CPC Periodic Training, subject to eligibility and successful completion of the required training.
