Description

This course is designed for managers, supervisors and team leaders who require an understanding of their responsibilities for promoting equal opportunity and preventing unlawful discrimination within the workplace. The course introduces the principles of equal opportunity and considers the responsibilities managers have for ensuring employment decisions and workplace practices are fair, objective and based on merit rather than stereotypes or discriminatory beliefs. It explores the importance of professional behaviour, consistent decision-making and creating a working environment that supports equality and respects individual differences. The course also considers the manager’s role in recognising and responding to discrimination, supporting organisational policies and ensuring concerns are addressed appropriately. It supports managers in understanding how their decisions, actions and leadership behaviours can contribute to a fair and inclusive workplace and help prevent discrimination from occurring.
