It considers how electronic communications and social media activity can affect individuals and organisations, including the potential for misunderstandings, inappropriate content, reputational damage and breaches of workplace policies. The course also considers confidentiality, intellectual property and information security when communicating and sharing information electronically. Learners are introduced to practical measures for protecting sensitive information, recognising phishing and other security risks, using social media responsibly and securing mobile devices and online accounts. It reinforces the importance of following organisational policies and maintaining professional, respectful and secure online behaviour.
