Description
This course is designed for managers, supervisors and other employees with responsibility for people management, pay or employment decisions who require an understanding of gender pay equity, the gender pay gap and their role in supporting fair and equitable workplace practices. The course introduces the gender pay gap and different ways in which pay disparities may occur, including like-for-like, by-level and organisation-wide pay gaps. It considers the significance of pay equity, relevant Great Britain equal pay and gender pay gap reporting requirements, and the potential organisational benefits of fair and transparent approaches to pay. The course also explores management responsibilities for identifying and addressing potential pay inequalities, including reviewing recruitment, promotion and performance practices, recognising unconscious bias and analysing payroll information. Learners consider gender pay gap calculations, pay quartiles, mean and median pay and bonus gaps, together with practical strategies such as job evaluation, transparent salary structures, inclusive leadership, regular pay audits and action planning to support progress towards greater pay equity.
