Description

This course is designed for individuals who wish to improve their personal productivity by developing more effective approaches to managing their time, workload, working environment and wellbeing. The course introduces the concept of productivity and considers common factors that can reduce individual performance, including multitasking, distractions, unclear communication and procrastination. Learners explore practical strategies for maintaining focus, clarifying expectations, breaking complex tasks into manageable activities, setting achievable goals and developing productive working routines. The course also considers effective time management and prioritisation techniques, including planning for unexpected demands, grouping similar tasks, establishing appropriate deadlines, maintaining accountability and using prioritisation methods such as the Urgent / Important Matrix. Learners consider how processes may be streamlined or automated and how difficult or high-priority tasks can be scheduled to make effective use of periods of greater concentration. Learners also explore how the physical and digital working environment can affect productivity, including workspace organisation, reducing interruptions and managing emails, notifications and other distractions. The course concludes by considering the relationship between productivity and personal wellbeing, including the importance of appropriate breaks, hydration, physical activity, healthy eating and maintaining working practices that support sustained performance and reduce the risk of burnout.
