The Machinery Risk Assessment Awareness course provides learners with the knowledge required to identify hazards, assess risks and develop suitable control measures when operating, maintaining or working around machinery in accordance with current health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
Combining tutor-led learning with practical examples and workplace scenarios, delegates will develop an understanding of machinery hazards, the principles of risk assessment, hierarchy of control measures and the importance of implementing effective safe systems of work. The course is designed to help individuals contribute to safer workplaces by recognising machinery-related risks and supporting the development of suitable risk assessments.
Training is delivered in line with the UK Rural Skills (UKRS) Course Standard, ensuring a structured, competence-based awareness programme that provides delegates with the knowledge required to undertake machinery risk assessments safely and effectively.

Assessment

Assessment is conducted against the learning outcomes and assessment criteria specified within the relevant UK Rural Skills (UKRS) Course Standard.
Certification
Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a UK Rural Skills (UKRS) Accredited Certificate, demonstrating that they have successfully achieved the learning outcomes and assessment criteria specified within the relevant UKRS Course Standard.
This course provides the knowledge required to identify machinery hazards and contribute to the completion and review of machinery risk assessments. It does not qualify delegates to act as competent health and safety consultants or remove the employer's responsibility for undertaking suitable and sufficient risk assessments under applicable health and safety legislation.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. Delegates should possess a sufficient understanding of spoken and written English to fully participate in training and assessment.
