Description

This course is designed for employees, managers and other individuals who require an understanding of modern slavery, the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and the responsibilities of organisations and employees in helping to identify and prevent modern slavery. The course introduces modern slavery and considers practices including forced labour, debt bondage, deceptive recruitment, human trafficking, servitude, forced marriage and the exploitation of children. Learners explore why modern slavery can be difficult to identify and the role that organisations and their supply chains can play in preventing and addressing exploitation. Learners consider the requirements placed on qualifying commercial organisations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015, including transparency within supply chains and the preparation and publication of an annual Modern Slavery Statement. The course explores identifying and assessing modern slavery risks, supply-chain due diligence, implementing and reviewing appropriate controls and engaging with suppliers and other stakeholders. The course also considers individual and organisational responsibilities for preventing modern slavery, including following relevant policies and procedures, undertaking appropriate due diligence and reporting concerns or suspected modern slavery practices through established organisational channels.
