Course Delivery
This course is delivered through face-to-face theory-based training.
The course provides the underpinning knowledge required for PA1 and prepares learners for the separate City & Guilds NPTC assessment.
Assessment
The training course itself does not provide the City & Guilds NPTC qualification.
Following the training, learners must successfully complete the separate City & Guilds Level 2 Award in the Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides (PA1) – 0216-73 assessment.
The assessment is arranged through UK Rural Skills Ltd, an approved City & Guilds testing centre (Centre Number: 075034) and is subject to an additional assessment fee.
For PA1, the assessment is normally arranged immediately following the training on the same day, unless otherwise advised.
Certification
Successful completion of the separate NPTC assessment leads to the City & Guilds Level 2 Award in the Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides (PA1).
Completion of the training course alone does not constitute achievement of the City & Guilds NPTC qualification.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for the PA1 training course.
PA1 provides the foundation knowledge required for those progressing to relevant pesticide application modules, depending on the equipment and application method they will use.
Course Duration
1 day, with the separate City & Guilds NPTC PA1 assessment normally taking place immediately after the training, unless otherwise advised.
