Description

The Pest Control - Rabbits and Moles (Aluminium Phosphide) course provides learners with the knowledge and practical understanding required to safely use aluminium phosphide products for the control of rabbits and moles in accordance with current legislation, product authorisations and industry best practice.

Combining classroom-based learning with practical instruction, delegates will develop an understanding of the legal responsibilities associated with aluminium phosphide use, site assessment, safe application techniques, environmental protection, emergency procedures and record keeping. The course prepares delegates for the practical and theoretical requirements of the Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Aluminium Phosphide for Vertebrate Pest Control (Rabbits and Moles) assessment.

Who Should Attend?

  • Farmers and farm managers.
  • Pest control operatives.
  • Agricultural contractors.
  • Estate and land management personnel.

  • Demonstrating safe handling procedures.
  • Applying appropriate risk control measures.
  • Completing relevant documentation and records.
  • Reviewing practical assessment requirements through realistic scenarios.

Assessment

Delegates are assessed throughout the training through instructor questioning and practical activities to confirm their knowledge, understanding and readiness for formal assessment.

Successful completion of this training course does not in itself confer the qualification.

Delegates wishing to achieve the NPTC Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Aluminium Phosphide for Vertebrate Pest Control (Rabbits and Moles) must successfully complete the independent NPTC assessment, which can be arranged by us at an additional cost.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the training course, delegates will receive a Certificate of Attendance confirming they have completed the preparatory training.

The NPTC Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Aluminium Phosphide for Vertebrate Pest Control (Rabbits and Moles) is awarded only following successful completion of the independent NPTC assessment.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for the training course. Delegates should possess a sufficient understanding of spoken and written English to fully participate in training and assessment. As aluminium phosphide is a highly hazardous substance, delegates should be capable of understanding and applying the legal and safety requirements associated with its use.

Course Duration

Course duration will vary depending on delegates' previous experience, the number of delegates attending and organisational requirements. Training is designed to provide delegates with the knowledge and practical understanding required to safely use aluminium phosphide products and prepare for the independent NPTC Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Aluminium Phosphide for Vertebrate Pest Control (Rabbits and Moles) assessment.
