Description
Course content: Introduction and background of lameness. Theory regarding the above objectives. Practical session in smaller groups using live animals in three crushes. Summary and question time. By the end of the course, trainees will be able to: Carry out a herd mobility score assessment and therefore identify lame animals that require treatment. Safely restrain the animal and lift the affected leg for further investigation. Identify common problems associated with the foot. Trim both normal but overgrown feet, and abnormal feet. Treat common problems, and be able to identify when veterinary assistance is required.
