Description
The Risk Assessment - Principles and Practical Application course provides learners with the knowledge and understanding required to carry out suitable and sufficient workplace risk assessments in accordance with current health and safety legislation and recognised best practice.
Combining tutor-led learning with practical workplace examples and risk assessment exercises, delegates will develop the competence required to identify hazards, evaluate risks, implement appropriate control measures and review the effectiveness of those controls. The course promotes a systematic approach to risk assessment, enabling delegates to apply the principles confidently within their own workplace and contribute to a safer working environment.
Training is delivered in line with the UK Rural Skills (UKRS) Course Standard, ensuring a structured, competence-based programme that combines theoretical knowledge with practical workplace application.

Assessment
Delegates are assessed throughout the course through instructor questioning, participation in practical exercises and completion of risk assessment activities to confirm their knowledge and understanding. Assessment is conducted against the learning outcomes and assessment criteria specified within the relevant UK Rural Skills (UKRS) Course Standard.
Certification
Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a UK Rural Skills (UKRS) Accredited Certificate, demonstrating that they have successfully achieved the learning outcomes and assessment criteria specified within the relevant UKRS Course Standard.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. Delegates should possess a sufficient understanding of spoken and written English to fully participate in training and assessment.
