Description
This course is designed for individuals who prepare, handle or dispose of food within the workplace and require an understanding of the essential practices that help maintain safe and hygienic food preparation. The course introduces the potential health risks associated with food preparation and considers why appropriate hygiene and food safety procedures must be followed whenever food is handled, prepared or disposed of. Learners develop an understanding of essential food preparation practices intended to reduce the risk of contamination and foodborne illness. The course reinforces the importance of maintaining appropriate standards of personal and workplace hygiene and following established procedures throughout food preparation activities. The course also considers the safe handling and disposal of food and food-related waste, including the importance of following appropriate workplace procedures to prevent contamination and maintain a clean and healthy working environment.
