Description


This training course aims to give trainees knowledge, understanding and basic skills in the safe operation of woodworking machine tools. You will be required to select the appropriate equipment to use, based on the type of operations to be performed, the size of the components and the materials used. The production of the components will involve the use of both fixed and portable conventional machines, which are designed specifically for wood and composite materials. The length of training may vary depending on the objectives covered, the ratio of trainee/instructor and the ability and previous experience of the trainees. The delivery of training covers a mix of both theory and practical elements. This training course covers woodworking machines tools such as circular saw; router; wood miller; band saw; planer/thicknesser; spindle moulder (single or double); jig saw; morticer/tenoner; bench or pedestal drill; sander (eg, face, belt, bobbin); combing machine; other special-purpose machine.
