Wasp Control

The Wasp Control course provides learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely identify, assess and control wasp infestations in accordance with current health and safety legislation, recognised industry best practice and relevant pesticide legislation where applicable.

Combining classroom-based learning with practical demonstrations and workplace scenarios, delegates will develop the knowledge and confidence required to identify common wasp species, assess infestation risks, select appropriate control methods, safely apply treatments where appropriate and minimise risks to themselves, building occupants, the public and the surrounding environment.

Training is delivered in line with the UK Rural Skills (UKRS) Course Standard, ensuring a structured, competence-based programme that combines theoretical knowledge with practical workplace application.

Practical Training

• Inspecting treated sites and confirming treatment effectiveness.
• Completing treatment records and customer documentation.

Assessment

Delegates are assessed throughout the course through instructor questioning, practical observation and workplace scenarios to confirm their knowledge, understanding and practical competence. Assessment is conducted against the learning outcomes and assessment criteria specified within the relevant UK Rural Skills (UKRS) Course Standard.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a UK Rural Skills (UKRS) Accredited Certificate, demonstrating that they have successfully achieved the learning outcomes and assessment criteria specified within the relevant UKRS Course Standard.

Entry Requirements

Delegates should possess a sufficient understanding of spoken and written English to fully participate in training and assessment. Where pesticide products are used during practical training, delegates must meet any legal prerequisites relating to the purchase or application of professional plant protection products.

Course duration will vary depending on delegates' previous experience, the number of delegates attending and the range of control methods being covered. Training is designed to provide delegates with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely identify, assess and control wasp infestations while protecting people, property and the environment.
