Description
This course is designed for managers, supervisors and team leaders who want to develop their understanding of emotional intelligence and how it can support effective leadership, communication and workplace relationships. The course introduces emotional intelligence and the role emotions can play in workplace behaviour and interactions. It explores five key elements of emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy and social skills, and considers practical approaches that leaders can use to develop their capabilities in each area. The course also considers recognising and managing emotions, maintaining motivation and resilience, understanding the perspectives of others and developing effective listening and communication skills. Learners explore how emotional intelligence can support trust and respect, constructive communication, relationship management and the effective handling of challenging situations and workplace conflict.
