Description
The Harvest Staff Health and Safety Induction course provides seasonal and temporary agricultural workers with the knowledge required to work safely during harvest operations in accordance with current health and safety legislation, industry best practice and employer procedures.
Combining tutor-led learning with practical examples and workplace discussions, delegates will develop an understanding of common harvest hazards, safe working practices, emergency procedures and their individual responsibilities for maintaining a safe working environment. The course is designed to support employers in providing a structured induction for harvest staff before they commence work.
Training is delivered in line with the UK Rural Skills (UKRS) Course Standard, ensuring a structured, competence-based approach that provides delegates with the knowledge required to work safely during harvest operations.

Assessment is conducted against the learning outcomes and assessment criteria specified within the relevant UK Rural Skills (UKRS) Course Standard.
Certification
Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a UK Rural Skills (UKRS) Accredited Certificate, demonstrating that they have successfully achieved the learning outcomes and assessment criteria specified within the relevant UKRS Course Standard.
This course provides a general health and safety induction for harvest staff and should be supplemented by employer-specific site inductions, task-specific instruction and appropriate supervision before work commences.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. Delegates should possess a sufficient understanding of spoken and written English to fully participate in training and assessment. Where English is not a delegate's first language, employers should ensure that appropriate supervision, translated instructions or other suitable support is provided to enable safe working.
