Description


The Health and Safety Employee Update course provides employees with an opportunity to refresh and update their knowledge of workplace health and safety, ensuring they remain aware of current legislation, safe working practices and their responsibilities for maintaining a safe working environment.

Combining tutor-led learning with practical examples and workplace discussions, delegates will revisit key health and safety principles, review common workplace hazards and reinforce safe behaviours. The course is designed to promote a positive health and safety culture by refreshing existing knowledge and highlighting changes to legislation, guidance or workplace procedures where applicable.

Training is delivered in line with the UK Rural Skills (UKRS) Course Standard, ensuring a structured, competence-based approach that reinforces good health and safety practices across a wide range of working environments.

Assessment

Delegates are assessed throughout the course through instructor questioning, participation in practical activities and knowledge-based assessment to confirm their continued understanding of workplace health and safety principles. Assessment is conducted against the learning outcomes and assessment criteria specified within the relevant UK Rural Skills (UKRS) Course Standard.


Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a UK Rural Skills (UKRS) Accredited Certificate, demonstrating that they have successfully refreshed their knowledge and achieved the learning outcomes and assessment criteria specified within the relevant UKRS Course Standard.

This course is intended as a refresher and update programme for employees and supports the maintenance of workplace health and safety knowledge. It complements, but does not replace, role-specific or industry-specific health and safety training where additional competence is required.


Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements, although delegates are expected to have existing workplace experience or previous health and safety training. Delegates should possess a sufficient understanding of spoken and written English to fully participate in training and assessment.

Course duration will vary depending on organisational requirements, the number of delegates attending and the scope of workplace procedures being reviewed. Training is designed to refresh existing knowledge, reinforce safe working practices and support continued compliance with workplace health and safety responsibilities.
