Description


The Safe Loading and Unloading Operations course provides learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely plan and carry out loading and unloading activities in accordance with current health and safety legislation and recognised industry best practice.

Combining classroom-based learning with practical demonstrations and workplace scenarios, delegates will develop the knowledge and confidence required to assess loading and unloading risks, select appropriate equipment, secure work areas, handle loads safely and apply safe working practices to minimise risks to themselves, others and the surrounding environment.

Training is delivered in line with the UK Rural Skills (UKRS) Course Standard, ensuring a structured, competence-based programme that combines theoretical knowledge with practical workplace application.

Assessment

Delegates are assessed throughout the course through instructor questioning, participation in practical exercises and workplace scenarios to confirm their knowledge and understanding. Assessment is conducted against the learning outcomes and assessment criteria specified within the relevant UK Rural Skills (UKRS) Course Standard.


Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a UK Rural Skills (UKRS) Accredited Certificate, demonstrating that they have successfully achieved the learning outcomes and assessment criteria specified within the relevant UKRS Course Standard.


Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. Delegates should possess a sufficient understanding of spoken and written English to fully participate in training and assessment.

Course duration will vary depending on delegates' previous experience, the number of delegates attending, the types of loads being handled and organisational requirements. Training is designed to provide delegates with the knowledge and practical understanding required to safely carry out loading and unloading operations in a variety of workplace environments.
