Description


This course is designed for individuals who require an introduction to Six Sigma principles, methodologies and tools used to support process improvement, quality and organisational performance. The course introduces Six Sigma as a metric, business improvement methodology and management system. Learners explore key concepts including customer focus, quality, leadership commitment, continuous improvement and the different Six Sigma belt roles and responsibilities. Learners develop an understanding of the DMAIC methodology for improving existing products and processes and the DMADV methodology for designing new products and processes. The course considers each stage of these approaches and introduces tools including Pareto charts, flowcharts, cause-and-effect diagrams, 5-whys analysis, brainstorming and Voice of the Customer techniques. Overall, the course aims to provide learners with a foundation in Six Sigma and an understanding of how its structured methodologies and tools can be used to identify problems, improve processes, reduce defects and better meet customer requirements.
