Description
This course is designed for individuals who want to improve how they manage their time, workload and competing priorities within the workplace. The course introduces the principles and benefits of effective time and priority management and considers common signs of poor time management. Learners explore practical techniques for understanding how their time is used, including task logs and the urgent/important matrix, and consider how tasks can be prioritised according to their importance and urgency. Learners develop strategies for delegating appropriately, organising information and managing workplace interruptions arising from colleagues, meetings, emails, telephone calls, instant messaging and other technology. The course also examines procrastination and practical techniques for overcoming it. Learners are introduced to SMART goal setting and how specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and timely goals can support productivity, prioritisation and achievement. Overall, the course aims to provide learners with practical strategies to manage their time and priorities more effectively, reduce unnecessary interruptions and procrastination and improve productivity and achievement of workplace goals.
