The Electrical Safety Awareness course provides learners with the knowledge required to recognise electrical hazards, understand the risks associated with electrical equipment and systems, and apply safe working practices in accordance with current health and safety legislation and industry best practice.

Combining tutor-led learning with practical examples and workplace scenarios, delegates will develop an understanding of electrical hazards, safe working procedures, emergency arrangements and the importance of preventing accidents involving electricity. The course is suitable for anyone who works with or around electrical equipment but is not intended to train delegates to carry out electrical installation or repair work.

Training is delivered in line with the UK Rural Skills (UKRS) Course Standard, ensuring a structured, competence-based approach that provides delegates with the knowledge required to work safely around electrical hazards within the workplace.

Assessment

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a UK Rural Skills (UKRS) Accredited Certificate, demonstrating that they have successfully achieved the learning outcomes and assessment criteria specified within the relevant UKRS Course Standard.

This course provides electrical safety awareness only and does not qualify delegates to undertake electrical installation, maintenance, inspection, testing or repair work. Such activities should only be carried out by suitably trained and competent persons.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. Delegates should possess a sufficient understanding of spoken and written English to fully participate in training and assessment.
