Description

This course is designed for students and learners who require an understanding of the standards of personal and academic conduct expected within an education or training environment. The course introduces the purpose and scope of a Student Code of Conduct and considers the rights and responsibilities of students. Learners explore appropriate behaviour within learning environments and the importance of treating staff and fellow students with fairness, dignity, courtesy and respect. Learners develop an understanding of academic misconduct, including cheating, plagiarism, unauthorised use of artificial intelligence, falsification of records or data and disruption of learning activities. The course also considers general misconduct, including discrimination, harassment, bullying, inappropriate use of organisational resources and other unacceptable behaviours. The course considers the potential consequences of misconduct and the processes for raising concerns, reporting suspected misconduct and responding appropriately where an allegation is made. Overall, the course aims to help learners understand expected standards of conduct, recognise behaviours that may constitute misconduct and contribute positively and responsibly to a safe, respectful and fair learning environment.
