Description
This course is designed for individuals who handle or have access to personal data and require an understanding of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and their responsibilities when collecting, processing, storing or transferring personal information. The course introduces the UK data protection framework, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, and explores personal data, special category data, the seven data protection principles, lawful bases for processing and the rights of data subjects. Learners also consider the respective responsibilities of data controllers and processors. Learners develop an understanding of consent, data minimisation, recordkeeping, international data transfers, security measures, Data Protection Impact Assessments and Subject Access Requests. The course also considers how to recognise and report personal data breaches and the role of the Information Commissioner`s Office in data protection enforcement. Overall, the course aims to provide learners with the knowledge required to handle personal data responsibly, recognise potential data protection issues and support organisational compliance with UK data protection requirements.
