Description
This course is designed for managers, supervisors and team leaders who are responsible for supporting employees returning to work following an extended period of leave and require an understanding of the basic principles for managing a positive and successful transition. The course introduces the challenges that employees may experience when returning to work after an extended absence and considers the important role managers play in helping individuals prepare for and adjust to their return. Learners develop an understanding of the basic principles for supporting the return-to-work process, including appropriate planning, communication and engagement with the returning employee. The course considers how managers can help employees understand arrangements for their return and identify matters that may need to be addressed to support a successful transition. The course reinforces the importance of providing appropriate guidance and support as employees resume their workplace responsibilities and recognising that individuals may require time to readjust following an extended absence. Overall, the course aims to provide managers with the awareness and basic principles required to guide and support employees through a positive and successful return to work.
